Our Hot Lunch Program launched as planned on Tuesday September 15th and we expect the children and this new program to settle into a groove over the next few weeks.
If you have any questions, check out the FAQs on the RFRK website or email Alisha Muster (our RFRK contact) and copy kimberleyhotlunch@gmail.com.
Here are answers from RFRK to the latest questions from parents:
I registered my son/daughter, but wonder can he/she pick and choose certain weeks or are we committing to every Tuesday/Thursday?
The program is a registration for all days of service, so every Tues/Thurs. We bill monthly and can’t accommodate modifications. That being said, if there is an absence or field trip, we have a 3 business day policy that parents can mark them away and choose to be credited or donate to Real Food Forward, our subsidy program.
Do we need to join before it starts up or can people join at any time?
You can join at any time! We always welcome new registrants. Again, all we need is 3 full business days to get all the details into our system and make the extra food.
I am interested in enrolling my son/daughter in the lunch program. However, he/she has a fish allergy. Is there a menu option that does not include fish items?
We can accommodate most allergies. When registering, we ask if there are allergies. We can accommodate a fish allergy or if the child simply does not like fish, we now offer a meal modification and when selected the child will not get fish (for a nominal modification fee)
