We hope the first few weeks back have been good for everyone!
The current members of School Council (until 2019-20 council members are announced at our first meeting, on September 30th, 2019) wanted to send you a quick update to let you know what’s happening this month in and around the school.
Clothing Swap
Orange Shirt Day, Cross Country, Terry Fox are coming quick and we thought if you had any orange shirts or old Kimberley gear that you need to get rid of – we could take them off your hands and pass them along to other families whose kids need to size up!
Please drop your donations off in the box set-up outside the kitchen from now until Tuesday, September 24th. If you are in need of used gear for your kids, we will have it laid out for you to check out from 8 am – 10:45 am on Wednesday, September 25th.
Maybe you’d like to order something new for your child? New Kimberley gear can be purchased here (https://www.kimberleysc.com/spirit-wear-shop/). If you’re looking for the cross-country shirt you have to select the Everyday Cotton Youth Tee, with the digital print full front logo.
First Council Meeting
Our first School Council meeting is set for Monday, September 30th at 6:30 PM in the Library. Learn more about Elections & Committees here (https://www.kimberleysc.com/2019/09/elections-2019/)
Centre 55 Fall Festival & Outdoor Movie Night
Realtor (and Kimberley parent), Derek Ladoucer is proudly supporting Community Centre 55’s Fall Festival and Movie Night to help raise money for the programs they run. Movie Night is Friday, September 27 and they are screening Goonies at dusk! The Fall Festival runs from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, September 28th – both at Bob Acton Park. Where do all the batteries go?
Ever wonder what happens to the batteries that you put in the battery bin in the lobby of the school? A parent volunteer or teacher lugs them to the dump. We would LOVE if someone could step up and do this for us. It’s an easy gig, once a month, grab the bin of batteries & some old light bulbs and drop them at a Transfer Station near you.
Email Megan if you can do this for us at meg.c.meeds@gmail.com
