Welcome back! With a few days under our belts, I think we can all agree that the teachers and staff are doing an amazing job given all that has been thrown at them thus far. So for that, we say thank you!! As for you parents, I’m sure there have been many ups and downs – I know we are feeling all the feelings of being back in such uncertain times, but know that you are not alone!

School council this year will look very different. With a number of limitations and restrictions on what we can and can’t do, we hope this year will be the year of advocating for our kids; learning about equality & discrimination and finding new ways of supporting each other than our usual playground high fives.  Council meetings are going to be a great way for you to learn more about the goings on at school,  a chance to ask the Principal questions, a time to bring your ideas to the table.

We hope you will consider running for the School Council Executive this year. Council Elections are held at the beginning of the meeting, if you’re at all interested in any of the Council positions (Co-chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Communications Officer), please complete your ballot online here. Elections happen at our first School Council meeting for the year on Monday, October 5th at 6:30 PM. This meeting will be held virtually on Zoom. We will be sending out an email in the next coming weeks with meeting details and the link.

The School Council Executive is made up of 4 elected roles – some of which can be held by multiple people:
